When people think about Cuban cigars, usually the mental picture that phrase creates is a bunch of old guys sitting around on leather chairs puffing on thick long Cuban cigars. They sometimes might have a glass of Scotch or something on the side and they are surrounded by a huge cloud of smoke that is covering ninety percent of their face.

Cuban cigars have somewhat been a genre for men. After all, in our society if a women smokes, she is not looked upon in a favorable manner. Yes this was true in the 1800s but well we’ve come a long way since than. At least I would like to hope so. Today smoking Cuban cigars is not just limited to men but anyone who wants to give it a go.

Women unfortunately had to fight for lots of things since the beginning of time. More so than men had to as in almost all societies, women were always considered as second class citizens. So when Cuban cigar got super popular back in the 1900s, women who were found smoking were considered witches. I don’t know what was wrong with people back than but apparently women smoking was a very bad thing.

Now that the ladies were doing it, although really rich ladies, soon years passed and guess who picked up on the Cuban cigar craze which was still underground? Hollywood! Once Hollywood got a taste of the Cuban cigar and realized what a magnificent treat it is. When Tia Carrera picked up that Cuban cigar, it was over. All the women joined in and a Cuban cigar was now considered a sign of success, money, power and fame for women too.

Soon women started working for Cuban cigar companies and especially the companies that started marketing Cuban cigars. Women were now just as much part of Cuban cigar marketing as they were for Beer and other very famous and desired products. Women and Smoking was now cool and everyone wanted to get their hands on a Cuban cigar.
